Naivas Limited, Kenya’s largest retail chain, and Uber Eats, a delivery platform, have announced a collaboration aimed at accelerating e-commerce growth and enhancing shopping convenience across the country.
In a statement on November 13, Naivas unveiled the partnership aimed to enable customers to shop for Naivas products directly on the Uber Eats app and enjoy fast, reliable home deliveries.
Naivas Chief Executive Officer Andreas Von Paleske said the partnership marks a natural phase in the retailer’s digital evolution.
“At Naivas, we’ve always strived to meet our customers where they are and increasingly, they’re online. This partnership with Uber Eats allows us to extend our trusted in-store experience to the digital space, giving shoppers more convenience, choice, speed, and flexibility in how they access everyday essentials,” he said.
On his part, Uber Eats Kenya General Manager Wangui Mbugua described the collaboration as a move aligned with Uber’s mission to simplify everyday life through technology.
“Kenyan consumers are among the most digitally engaged in Africa. Together with Naivas, we’re making it easier for them to get what they need, when they need it … Uber One adds even more value through affordability and loyalty benefits that reward customers every time they shop. At only Ksh280, Kenyan consumers can sign up to Uber One and get free delivery and more value.”

The rollout will begin with select Naivas branches in Nairobi, with plans to expand to major towns nationwide.
Shoppers will gain access to thousands of products—including fresh produce, electronics, groceries, and household essentials—delivered straight to their doorsteps via the Uber Eats platform.
The partnership combines Naivas’ expansive retail footprint with Uber’s advanced delivery technology, aiming to meet Kenya’s rising demand for speed, flexibility, and digital access.

Kenya’s Rising E-Commerce
Kenya’s e-commerce sector continues to grow rapidly, with Statistics projecting the market to reach USD 1.35 billion in 2025 and expand at an annual growth rate of 10.7% through 2030.
Furthermore, a 2025 Kepios Digital Report reveals that 78% of Kenyan internet users now browse or shop online, highlighting a shift in consumer behavior driven by smartphone adoption and urban lifestyles.
Hence, the partnership represents a key milestone in Kenya’s retail evolution, promoting a “clicks-and-mortar” model that blends physical retail strength with digital convenience.
Globally, e-commerce is expected to account for over 25% of total retail sales by 2026, positioning Kenya as a leading growth hub in the region.
