Apple has said customers who have purchased iPhone 14 pro or iPhone 14 pro Max will have to wait longer for their shipments.
The tech giant announced that its factory in China was operating at a low capacity after officials locked down a district home to Foxconn’s iPhone factory on 2 November for seven days.
“As we have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we are prioritizing the health and safety of the workers in our supply chain,”
“We continue to see strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models. However, we now expect lower iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max shipments than we previously anticipated and customers will experience longer wait times to receive their new products.” said Apple in a statement.
Foxconn, formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry, accounts for 70% of iPhone shipments globally.
The company had reported cases of employees escaping from the premises after a lockdown was declared following new cases among the workers.

Foxconn on Monday offered a one-time bonus of 500 yuan (US$69, GBP£60.88) to workers who left the plant between 10 October and 5 November if they return to work.
China reported 5,643 new Covid infections on Sunday, its highest daily tally in six months.
The current covid restrictions have affected trade in the world’s second-largest economy, with China recording the worst performance since May 2020.
Outbound shipments for the month dropped 0.3% from a year earlier, which is in stark contrast to a 5.7% gain in September.
Foxconn factory is in Zhengzhou, capital of Henan which recorded 3,683 cases and 22 deaths on Monday.
