Traders operating in stalls at the Kitengela bus terminus have been decrying over what they term as intimidation, harassment, and corruption by county officials.
According to complains aired by the traders, county officials ask for bribes of up to one hundred thousand Kenyan Shillings per stall lest the trader is forcefully evicted.

The thirty-six stalls next to the Kitengela bus stage were constructed in 2016, where individuals pay a monthly rent of between Ksh 10,000 and Ksh 20,000, and a further Ksh 4500 to the county government.
Corruption allegations surrounding the issuance of the stalls at the expense of registered groups stated that individuals allied to the former Governor David Nkedianye were allocated first.
The thirty-six stalls adjacent to the busy terminus have become a source of frustration among traders seeing a substantial number remain closed.
