Kenya Airways (KQ) has requested passengers not able to travel because of the ongoing pilots’ strike to cancel their tickets and expect a full refund.
KQ made a statement on Saturday November 5, apologizing to the inconvenienced travelers and promised to offer immediate solutions.
“In case you choose not to travel, you can request for a refund for the unutilized ticket. You can also contact our Customer Care at Customer.RelationsPkenva-airways.com, the Kenya Airways Sales office or your Travel Agent for further assistance,” KQ further stated.
The company further advised passengers to look into alternative flights in case the problem is not resolved in time.
“I was scheduled to travel to Cape Town. I have been informed that the flight is cancelled, and the airline is advising us to look for alternative flights,”
“I have booked my flight on a different airline, which is inconveniencing because I will have to travel tomorrow,” said Mr Muhanda, one of the travelers.
The pilots’ strike led to cancellation of over fifteen flights, leaving around 10,000 passengers stranded.
The roads and Transport Cs, Kipchumba Murkomen asked the Pilots to end the strike, negotiating with the Kenya Airline Pilots Association to get them back to work.
