Homabay County Governor Gladys Wanga has sent eight senior County Government officers on compulsory leave.
The eight officials were sent home to provide room for audit and investigations on allegations of irregular recruitment of County employees.
Moreover, a statement from the office of the Governor states that there were claims made of irregularities and ethical issues concerning the recruitment of Homabay County Government staff.
In addition, while on compulsory leave the eight officers are not allowed to access County Government records or the premises.
Furthermore, they are also prohibited from undertaking any transactions on behalf of the county government.
Nevertheless, governor Gladys Wanga urged Homabay County residents to support her reform initiatives to get the County back on track in order to achieve the desired level of service delivery.
Wanga further stated that going forward, there will be no cadre of County jobs available for sale.
