Drama was witnessed at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) after a protestor tried to disrupt the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC) National Election Conference.
In a video footage seen by The Kenya Times, police were seen dragging the protestor from the Tuesday, July 12 function as he shouted while fighting off the officers.
“We do not want elections in this country…we want good justice, we want equality..” the protestor shouted as he was being whisked away by police officers.
Two weeks ago, the same protestor also momentarily disrupted IEBC’s meeting with the four presidential candidates on voter preparedness.
The man approached IEBC’s Chair Wafula Chebukati with a banner and made some demands just as Chebukati was about to invite the candidates to voice their concerns.
“I want freedom,” the protestor shouted while security agents carried him shoulder-high out of the meeting.
