Four suspected gangsters have been arrested in various parts of HomaBay County.
Moreover, as of the last one week, a total of twelve gangsters have been arrested by HomaBay police officers.
Likewise, the four suspects were arrested in the most recent sting operation in various parts of the county and its environs.
HomaBay Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) launched operations to arrest these gangsters following a string of break-ins targeting homes in the area.
“The gangsters have been breaking into homes, making away with electronic gadgets and other valuables in residential homes, shops and churches,” police said.
In addition, Homa Bay County Criminal Investigations Officer Abed Kavoo said preliminary investigations indicate that the gang’s ring leader is suspected to have fled to a neighboring county.
Officer Kavoo further reported that the four suspects are currently detained at Homa Bay Police Station alongside eight of their accomplices, awaiting their arraignment.
Similarly, a couple was arrested two days ago in relation to the burglary and theft in Homa Bay county.
According to Kavoo, the suspects were arrested at a rental house in Shauri Yako Estate within Homa Bay Town.
During the operation, the police recovered several metal bars that they suspect were being used by the gang to break into homes.

Nonetheless, the two suspects who are among the 12 gangsters arrested were taken to Homa Bay Police Station for further interrogation pending their arraignment in court.
