Kericho Governor Dr. Erick Mutai today led an operation to flush out a private investor who had reportedly grabbed a two-acre piece of land.
The land is meant to be a dumpsite for Kericho.
Moreover, a group of resident led by their governor brought down the fence surrounding the parcel of land.
According to governor Mutai the action should serve as a warning to any land grabber.
He further stated that more than 20acres of land have cumulatively been grabbed in Kericho. Moreover, he stated that plans are underway to reclaim all public land that are illegally acquired.
“As a custodian of public property, I will remain steadfast in protecting whatever belongs to the people,” he said after the exercise.
Nevertheless, the Kericho Governor directed the county secretary to publish all public land and owners notified to vacate.
