Bar and entertainment joints workers in Nairobi have resorted to prayers to seek God’s intervention over fear of losing their jobs.
They are now planning to hold a national prayer day to ask God to intervene in what they are terming as a disaster
The workers say that thousands of them are staring at unemployment following an order to shut down all entertainment joints operating within residential areas in Nairobi county.
Addressing the media in Nairobi on Monday, the workers asked Kenyans to forgive them for disturbing their peace within their residential areas.
They say some of them have already been issued with notices to leave employment because of reduced hours of operation.
Among the group are waiters and waitresses, bar managers, music DJs, music bands,stewards and catering staff.

The hospitality employees association says that some 36,000 employees are at risk of losing their jobs if the order is not reversed.
The association wants President William Ruto to intervene and protect their jobs especially during the peak December season.
Nairobi governor Jonhson Sakaja has said he is not going back on his move to deal with noise pollution within residential areas.
Sakaja insists that nightclubs will only be allowed to operate within the central business district and within designated areas in Westlands and Industrial area.
Last week, bar owners and liquor traders called on Sakaja to form a taskforce that will help in finding a lasting solution to the problem of noise pollution.
