Deputy President-elect Rigathi Gachagua has said he is working towards revamping his dress code following online criticism from Kenyans
The former Mathira member of parliament attributed his poor dressing to an alleged witchhunt by the government which forced him to shift his focus and priorities in the last four years.
“Many people have been raising questions about how I dress. I had no luxury to look at how I dressed. My eyes were always over my shoulders and taking care of my family,” he stated.
Gachagua indicated that he currently weighs 94 kilograms and is planning on losing 10 kilograms in the coming months.
“In three months, I will be in shape and they will love what they see,” he stated.
“For the last 9 years, I have been under surveillance from state agencies. They have been following me wherever I go, listening to my telephone calls and following my wife and children.
“In the last two weeks that has changed. I feel safer now,” Gachagua breathed a sigh of relief.
The deputy president-elect is set to take oath of office alongside his boss, Ruto, at Kasarani Stadium today between 10 am and 12 noon as stipulated by the Constitution.
