Azimio leader Raila Odinga has called off planned national rallies to protest against the removal from office of four IEBC commissioners.
Odinga was set to hold his first rally tomorrow at the Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi.
Raila says the rally that was to culminate into a peaceful demonstration within the city centre will now take place on December 7.
Addressing a press conference after the coalition’s Parliamentary Group meeting at SKM Command Center in Karen, Minority leader Opiyo Wandayi said the decision was to allow for the completion of ongoing national examinations.
“We have to reschedule the start of our public engagements to December 7 due to the ongoing national examinations,” Wandayi said.

Odinga was set to hold countrywide anti-government rallies to protest what he terms as dictatorial tendencies from the President William Ruto led government.
He said the planned rallies will be held in Nairobi,Mombasa,Nakuru,Kisumu and Kakamega
The meeting was also attended by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka and former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa.
“It’s been a productive and exciting discussion with the Azimio PG. We will continue to put our heads together while determining our immediate next steps as a coalition. Mungu Mbele”.Raila posted after the meeting.
On Sunday President William Ruto cautioned Odinga against whipping up negative emotions in the country by calling street protests.
According to Ruto, there are better ways the opposition can use to put his government in check as opposed to organizing street protests.
Interior CS Kithure Kindiki said that the government would deploy police officers to provide security during the rallies.
