Traders in Nakuru County have sustained mild injuries after a hotel wall caved in collapsing on them.
The Kokeb restaurant walls collapsed on Thursday September 8 where the three were injured and other traders narrowly escaped.
The injured were rushed to a health center close by where they received treatment.
The structural safety of the walls had been in question over the years but the traders never took it as a threat.
Rachel Wangari, one of the survivors explained of her escape, and felt lucky she did not get injured. Wangari further explained that the walls had for years had the cracks and nothing had been done.
“I had a loud bang and just realized I was pushed forward. Three people were injured in the incident. One of them is a lady who sells candy while the other two are gentlemen who are shoe shiners.
“There was a crack in the wall but we never thought anything would happen because it has been there for five years. There were no efforts to repair the wall in five years,” Wangari said,
The National Construction Authority has in the past suspended contractors across the country following investigations after several buildings were reported faulty and several collapsing.
Collapsed buildings have in the past claimed Kenyan lives as a result the police launched investigations on the matters.

The police department in Nakuru has started investigations into the matter in consultation with the Construction Authority, expected to release a statement.
