Police in Nakuru have launched investigations into the gruesome murder of a man and woman.
The badly mutilated bodies of the two were found dumped at different places in Barut Area, Kwa Rhonda, Nakuru Town West Sub County.
Detectives say the bodies of a man and woman had visible signs of sexual assault.
The woman was beheaded making it difficult to identify her while the man was strangled, police revealed.
Addressing the media, the brother of the deceased man said his brother was strangled.
“The security in this area is very poor, in fact, there are gangs threatening the livelihood of residents,” Gilbert Sang said.
According to Nakuru County commander Peter Mwanzo, anyone who will be found by authorities in possession of crude weapons will be treated as a terrorist.
The latest comes just days after Nakuru gripped headlines with rising incidences of insecurity, a majority traced to local youth gangs.
In late June, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi reassured Nakuru residents of heightened security in the region amid the resurgence of terror gangs.
