Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja is expected to meet with all employees of the Nairobi County Government on Monday, August 29.
The meeting will be the very first official function by the governor since his swearing-in on Thursday, as the new head of the county government after winning the August 9 polls.
Moreover, on Friday, August, 26, a circular had been released by the County Secretary and Head of County Public Service, Jairus Musumba.
The circular noted that it is mandatory for all county employees to attend the meeting without fail.
However, the meeting’s agenda was not disclosed in the circular.
Nonetheless, Nairobi county government has a huge establishment to the tune of 14,000 employees.
Furthermore, Sakaja is expected to address the issue of the fate of the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS).
Similarly, the Public Service Commission said NMS was at liberty to revert all functions to City Hall if the deed of transfer is not renewed after its expiration in October.
Likewise, Sakaja has pledged to have all county mandates returned to city hall from NMS.

However, there have been concerns whether the process may interfere with service delivery as there are many issues that need to be done including audit before the transfer is effected.
According to the workers union, they are also expecting the new government to settle billions of shillings owed to pension schemes after being deducted from their salaries.
Nonetheless, on Saturday, August 27 the Nairobi governor Sakaja toured parts of the city and witnessed heaps of uncollected garbage, which he vowed to address.
