Residents of Emitot village in Bomet County are reeling in shock after a 60-year-old man who was reportedly dumped in a pit by his 22-year-old son was rescued and rushed to hospital for treatment.
Before he was rescued and admitted at Longisa County Referral Hospital for treatment, Samuel Tanui had spent two days in the pit only to attract the attention of passers by on the third day.
According to Citizen Digital, Tanui made loud noises that caught the attention of the passers by.

His neighbors came together and managed to pull him out of the pit.
Confirming the incident, Emitiot sub-location assistant chief Leny Ngeno said Tanui’s son identified as Charles Kiplangat Rotich, was arrested after returning home at night thinking his father had died.
Police officers from Longisa pounced on him immediately after he stepped into the compound and is currently held at Longisa police station.
