Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu is set to launch the 2023 Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) portal on Wednesday, May 17 at the University of Nairobi.
The CS will unveil the placement of 2022 KCSE candidates in universities and colleges.
Moreover, the 2022 candidates will be expected to start selecting their courses and their institutions of choice in the KUCCPS portal.
The official launch of opening of the portal will kick-start the 2023 placement cycle with candidates expected to make choices based on unit costs.
Furthermore, Universities had been directed to submit to KUCCPS their unit costs to allow candidates select courses and institutions they can afford.

The move marks the very first time the state has directed institutions of higher learning to make public the cost of their units before students apply.
This comes in the wake of a new funding model for students unveiled by President William Ruto, where the government will only pay capitation fees strictly to students studying in public universities.
As such, those who will opt for private universities will pay their own fees through eenhancedgovernment loans.
Nonetheless, 173, 345 out of the 881, 416 students who sat the 2022 KCSE scored above a C plus to secure direct qualification for university admission.
