Deputy President William Ruto has named individuals he alleges are behind the incitement and planning of chaos during the August 9 elections.
Speaking at his Karen office on Thursday, Ruto also claimed some individuals were using two radio stations namely Kameme FM and Inooro to incite members of two communities.
At the same time Ruto named Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, Maalim Mohammed, Trans Nzoia County Commissioner Samson Ojwang, Uasin Gishu’s Stephen Kihara and Esustus Mbui of Nakuru, as perpetrators of incitement and hate messages in the Rift Valley region
He accused them of holding night meeting to orchestrate and plan conflict in the region.
Ruto said that unfortunately, the President Uhuru Kenyatta is aware of the said meetings.
“We are concerned about meetings which are being done in dark places to orchestrate what is not good for Kenya. The President met people in Nakuru and what is emerging from those meetings is the leaflets you see,” he said.
The DP lashed at the government for trying to lock them out of venues on flimsy reasons.
“Today we are supposed to hold a meeting at Tononoka Grounds and some people are trying to use the police to block us. The excuse they are giving us is that the President is in Mombasa,” the DP stated.
he said Kenya Kwanza would still go ahead and hold its final rally at Nyayo Stadium on August 6 whether the stadium will be locked or not
