Roots party Presidential candidate George Wajackoyah has denied reports of endorsing his competitor Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.
This is after a video went viral claiming that the Roots Party candidate had opted out of the race and endorsed Raila for the presidency
“Our attention has been drawn to a viral video clip showing our presidential candidate Prof George Wajackoyah on the campaign trail addressing his supporters at an entertainment joint,” reads a statement.
Roots Party Spokesperson Wilson Muirani says in the said video, Wajackoyah addressed his supporters and accorded his competitors some level of respect.
In a statement, he blamed what he called “the biased media’ for doctoring the clip to allegedly suit and push their candidate, Raila Odinga.
Wajackoyah claims that his opponents have sensed defeat and are using underhand means to confuse Kenyans
“The notion that Prof Wajackoyah has endorsed Raila Odinga is a hopeless imagination,” said the statement
The party moved to assure its supporters that Wajackoyah is still in the race to the end
Wajackoyah says he is headed for victory and that other camps have panicked over their expectations against the reality in this election.
In a previous campaign tour in Kisumu,Wajackoyah had told his supporters that he and Raila share the same idelology
