Homicide detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have discovered 12 more graves believed to be those of followers of controversial preacher Paul Nthenge Mackenzi of the Good News International Church.
The graves were discovered on a piece of land believed to belong to Mackenzi.
Mackenzi is accused of running a cult like church.
Several of his followers have perished after he forced them to fast to death with the promise of meeting Jesus.
On Wednesday, police rescued four more people from the forest where Mackenzi’s followers have been hiding.
