Zedekiah Bundotich commonly known as Buzeki has conceded defeat in the Uasin Gishu County gubernatorial race.
Buzeki accepted defeat after IEBC declared his political rival Jonathan Bii Governor-elect.
According to the final tallies from IEBC Buzeki garnered 127,013 votes whereas Bii, who is well known as Koti Moja had 214,036 votes.
Moreover, this is the second time Buzeki is defeated in the gubernatorial race.
On Friday, August 12, morning, Buzeki conceded defeat, congratulating his main opponent for the win.
“The great people of UG have spoken. Your decision has been communicated at the ballot. We had our say of Uongozi ni sera, but the majority have had their way through universal suffrage,” he wrote.
“With official results announced by IEBC last night, I take this opportunity to congratulate the Governor elect as he takes over leadership, in addressing developmental needs of our people,” Buzeki added.
The business man assured Bii that he will have their support and prayers, adding that the county needs them all to move forward.

“To my supporters, I thank you so much for your overwhelming support and believe in tai ole tai ideologies. We won the ideological War, but lost the election battle. We will continue contributing to our Community’s socio economic needs where we can. Let’s now get out strongly to work and contribute to the development of our County. Politics are now behind us,” he stated.
Likewise, in a fierce battle for the Uasin Gishu seat in 2017, Buzeki emerged second after outgoing Governor Jackson Mandago.
During that time, Buzeki was trounced by Mandago in the Jubilee Party primaries and resorted to contesting as an Independent candidate.
Furthermore, Mandago won the race by 193,604 votes, while Buzeki followed closely with 148,121 votes.
