Mathare MP Aspirant and Musician Kevin Bahati Kioko says his opponents have tried convincing him to drop of the race for Mathare MP seat. In an interview with Radio Citizen, the aspirant says he was offered Ksh 50 million. Further, he also mentions a job offer on the table if he were to drop off the race.
“I was told I will be given a job. But I am not looking for a job, I am earning a living from my music. People have come with offers they want to pay me to step down. They have offered me millions, up to Ksh 50 million. They know that when they get to office, they will regain the money,” says Bahati.
This information comes out only four days after Presidential Aspirant Wajackoyah said he was offered Ksh 200 million to drop off the race.
Bahati mentions Anthony Aluoch as one of the people who approached him, asking for his support and a campaign song.
“He told me to do a campaign song for him and support him. They want to use a person from Mathare to get to the people,” he continued.
However, he promises not to drop out of the race, saying he cannot be uncompromised.
Azimio la Umoja dropped Bahati as their Mathe flagbearer, picking ODM’s Anthony Oluoch to vie under the party ticket instead.
