Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja has been cleared to vie for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
Speaking on Tuesday, June 7 at the Kasarani Gymnasium after he was cleared to vie for the seat come the August 9 General Elections, Sakaja disputed rumours surrounding his academic credentials.
The Senator stated that he presented the same documents he used in vying for the Nairobi Senatorial seat in 2017 to IEBC in his quest to succeed Governor Anne Kananu.
“I am sufficiently qualified, the documents I presented are the same documents I presented in 2017 to vie for Senator, so I have been cleared to vie for Nairobi governor,” Sakaja said.
The aspirant further assured residents of Nairobi that his government will ensure Nairobians access quality services.
“Nairobi residents should avoid looking at tribe when voting. Let’s vote for leaders who have the interest of Nairobi at heart,” he said,
Sakaja also assured his supporters that he will win the gubernatorial seat, promising residents of that city that he will fulfil his promises.
“Our march is unstoppable, our faith unshakeable and our victory is inevitable. We must make Nairobi work, we must restore our city back to its former glory by offering our people, order, dignity, hope, and opportunity for all,” he said.
