Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka said he decided to attend the interview for the Azimio running mate position so as to prevent anyone from using his refusal as an excuse to exclude him from deputizing Raila Odinga.
Kalonzo said it was his own decision to appear before the Azimio running mate seven-member panel despite earlier dismissing the Committee.
He further described the interview process as more of a conversation than an interview as it is being perceived by the public.
The Tuesday May 10 ,morning session lasted slightly more than two hours.
“I want to tell you that it was my decision to come because I realized we didn’t want to give anybody an excuse whatsoever to say I refused to show up,” Kalonzo stated.
While addressing journalsits after the interview, the former vice president reported that it was a useful conversation with the panelists led by Noah Wekesa.
“The Committee has great and experienced men like Bishop Njenga and Bishop Zacheus Okoth, I looked at that in my own right and said why would I not want to go and meet Bishop Okoth? I had to make that decision.” He said.
The wiper boss had earlier on ruled out appearing before the committee, on claims that it was to publicly humiliate him.
