Makueni governor-elect Mutula Kilonzo Junior’s car was Thursday, August 25 involved in a road crash a few hours before his swearing into office.
The vehicle is reported to have had three passengers on board.
Moreover, according to reports, the Makueni governor’s car veered off the Machakos-Wote highway and landed in a ditch.
Furthermore, all three occupants who were headed to Mutula’s swearing in ceremony – escaped without injuries.
Fortunately, the Makueni Governor-elect was not in the car at the time of the accident as he was already at Unoa grounds, Wote town, where the ceremony was being held.

Nevertheless, the ceremony went on as planned and was presided over by Justice Robert Limo and outgoing Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana handed over the instruments of power to Mutula and his deputy Lucy Mulili.
