Deputy President William Ruto after being cleared by the IEBC to run for presidency come August 9, on Saturday, June 4 expressed confidence in the commission to deliver free and fair elections.
The DP who had recently claimed there was an ongoing plot to rig the forthcoming general elections today said that his Kenya Kwanza team is confident that the Commission is up to the task.
Ruto further noted that his team is committed to observing elections code of conduct to make the August polls above board. Moreover, he appointed Tharaka Nithi Senator Prof. Kithure Kindiki as his chief agent during the general elections alongside Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok and UDA SG Veronica Maina.
William Ruto who was cleared on Saturday, June 4 becomes the third presidential candidate to be cleared.
Likewise, his counterpart Raila Odinga is set to appear before IEBC on Sunday, June 4.
Furthermore, other aspirants already cleared by the IEBC to contest for the country’s top seat include: Walter Mongare (Umoja Summit) and George Wajackoyah (Roots Party).
