Walter Mong’are has said he will continue with his campaigns despite being disqualified by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Monday, June 6.
The Umoja Summit Party presidential candidate said, he was unfairly barred from contesting in the presidential race and that his dream to ascend to the top office is still alive.
During a Wednesday, June 8 interview with a local media house, Mr. Mong’are stated that he saw from a research which came out yesterday that a big chunk of the Kenyan voters was still undecided. Hence, that acts as a great opportunity for him to fight for his presidential dream.
He further said that there is hope, and a freshness Kenyans need, thus, he is still campaigning and has no reason not to campaign, adding that he is hopeful.
Walter Mong’are was disqualified by IEBC just a few days after he had been cleared to contest for the presidential seat, due to lack of academic qualifications and his failure to present himself to clarify the issue.
According to him, he remains qualified to contest as long as he has not received an official disqualification.
“I am knowledgeable, educated, have gone to school, there are things that can be left to interpretations and others to an argument. I have been cleared and was the first person to be cleared and I believe the honors is to the IEBC to prove otherwise and we will know from the interest of time the truth.” Mong’are noted.
