Anne Nderitu graduated from Moi University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Education Arts (English and Literature).

She also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Linguistics from the University of Nairobi, which she attained in 2007.

In 2018, Nderitu received a Diploma in Public Administration from Galilee Institute of Management in Israel.

Work Experience

As an educationist, she worked as a District Quality Assurance and Standard Officer (DQASO) from 2006 -2008 based in Kiambu West.

Her job description entailed supervising curriculum implementation in schools and ensuring quality teaching through inspections.

She was promoted to the District Education Officer – DEO in 2008, a position she held until 2010, based in Mbooni East, Makueni.

In Mbooni, Nderitu was in charge of overall education management in the district

Electoral management

Ann Nderitu has vast experience in electoral matters, having worked at the IEBC before.

She worked as Manager, Partnerships at the IEBC from 2010-2015.

Her core mandate was ‘establishing and coordination of local and international partnerships with likeminded organisations to support the electoral process.’

Between 2014 and 2016, she was Director, Voter Education and Partnership.

From 2016 to 2018, she was Head of Technical Electoral Training at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission.

In addition, she was appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer/Registrar of Political Parties before she was confirmed to the position in 2020.

“Holding a diploma in ECD gave me the opportunity to train thousands of teachers at certificate and diploma levels in addition to establishing centres of excellence where the teacher trainees went to benchmark especially in preparation of teaching aids and conduct of outdoor activities,” says Ann Nderitu.
