Kenyan actress and media personality Dorea Chege has announced her pregnancy in a heartfelt video on her Instagram stories.
The video was captured at an event and featured Chege tenderly caressing her expanding baby bump with the caption “Happy and content.”
Chege had previously expressed her desire to start a family with her fiancé, DJ Dibul (Dickson Ndegwa Nyathore), whom she met while working in the entertainment industry. In an earlier interview, she discussed the possibility of naming their child Wendo and revealed that while she wants one child, her fiancé wants three.
Despite their differences in the number of children they want, Chege has spoken in various interviews about her deep admiration for DJ Dibul. She has praised his reserved nature and simple outlook on life, qualities that she finds immensely attractive.

The couple had initially intended to keep their relationship private but decided to make it public after their status began to be speculated about on blogs. Chege explained, “He is famous amongst the Kikuyu audience, and so when we started dating, it was difficult to keep it private because blogs soon started speculating. We wanted to control our narrative, and so we decided to go public.”
Their immense popularity has led to various lucrative partnerships, which Chege is delighted to be a part of with her loved one. She said, “It’s been a pleasure dating him; I had no idea our going public would earn us money. Are you aware of how satisfying it is to earn money with a loved one?”
Chege’s pregnancy announcement has been met with warm wishes and congratulations from her fans and followers. She has previously shared her journey of self-love and acceptance on social media, inspiring many with her positive messages.
Chege is head over heels in love with DJ Dibul and has stated unequivocally that she will “absolutely marry this man.” We wish the happy couple all the best as they prepare for their new arrival and navigate their differences in plans for the size of their family.
