One of Kenya’s top TV stations, KTN has lost yet another valuable talent barely weeks after announcing looming massive layoff.
The Kenya Times has learnt KTN News’ business editor Abiy Agina has ditched the station.
The latest development unfolded after the revered journalist landed a prestigious role at the multi-national TV station, CNBC Africa.
Reports reaching The Kenya Times newsdesk indicate that Abiy Agina will be joining CNBC Africa as a producer and senior anchor.
The former KTN newscaster will be based in Rwanda, where the station has one of its many studios.
News about Abiy Agina’s move was first made public by CNBC Rwanda country manager Eugene Anangwe as he welcomed him to the station.
“Welcome to the team at CNBC Africa, East Africa in the second fastest growing economy in Africa; Kigali, Rwanda my brother Abiy Agina,” Eugene wrote online.
Abiy Agina’s move comes barely weeks after Standard Group announced an upcoming massive layoff.
