Lilian Ng’ang’a Reveals Being Beaten by Ex-Lover

Former Machakos County First Lady Lilian Ng’ang’a has opened up about being beaten by her partner in a past relationship.

Speaking on her social media platforms, Lilian revealed that she stayed in the abusive relationship despite being hit several times.

She shared that memories of his past abusive relationship revived while she was being abused at the hospital, where she was visiting with her son. 

Why Lilian was beaten up

“I just came from the hospital. My baby and I have been a bit sick. My eye was swollen, and when I got there, the doctor was very concerned, asking me, ‘Did somebody hit you?’ I quickly told him no, but that question reminded me of something I had gone through in the past,” stated Lilian.

While she did not name the lover, Lilian revealed one of the reasons she was assaulted in Westlands, Nairobi.

“This time we were at Westlands and my then-boyfriend concluded that this person was looking at me and I was looking at them so he hit me,” added Lilian Ng’ang’a.

She stated that her immediate reaction was to hit him back in defence while she did not believe that he had laid his hands on her.

Ng’ang’a went on to state that she normalized the situation to the point that she would lie about the injuries she had gotten from the physical assault incidents.

“Sometimes I had to call in sick for work and now I had to go to the doctor and she would ask what happened and I would be like ‘Ooh I fell down the stairs. And she told me, ‘Girl you’re lying. This is somebody who hit you,” stated Ng’ang’a.

Lilian passed a message to those currently experiencing abuse; when the time comes for one to leave, they would not need to be told to leave by friends, colleagues, and family.

Lilian Ng’ang’a publicly broke up with the Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, Alfred Muta, who is also the former Machakos Governor.

Shortly after separating from the governor, Lilian began dating musician Juliani, with whom she has a son.

There have been rumours on social media that Lilian Ng’ang’a also parted ways with the ‘Utawala’ hitmaker but the two are yet to confirm the rumours.
