Eric R. Holder, Jr, the man convicted of killing rapper Nipsey Hussle has been sentenced to at least 60 years in prison.
In the shooting incident that saw two bystanders get injured, the court determined that Eric fatally shot Hussle outside the hip-hop artist’s clothing store in March 2019.Furthure, prosecutors alleged that Holder approached Hussle over allegations he had called him a snitch.
After hearing from one of Hussle’s friends as well as reading a letter from Holder’s father, Superior Court Judge H. Clay Jacke announced Holder’s 60 years to life sentence on Wednesday. He was given 25 years for shooting the rapper and an extra 25 years for firearm enhancements added to the charge.

Additionally, Eric was convicted of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter, for the two bystanders and he was added an extra ten years. While donning an orange jail attire, he did not react when his sentence was read out
Although Holder’s defense team argued it was a heat-of-the-moment decision, the prosecutors said during the murder trial that the attack was premeditated.
In a letter that was read aloud for the record, Eric’s father apologized to the court saying, “I know there are not enough words or apologies that will fill the void, the loss, the pain, the deep sorrow the family of Ermias Asghedom (Nipsey Hussle) is experiencing. You cannot imagine the agony, the grief, the utter disbelief and devastation I feel knowing my son, Eric Jr., took another person’s life.”
Hussle won two posthumous Grammy awards for best rap performance and best rap/song collaboration in 2020, and had two children with actor Lauren London, was fatally shot on March 31, 2019, in South Los Angeles at only thirty-three. He was the founder of the record label All Money In, and rap aside, he could be described as a successful entrepreneur.
