When rapper Abizo left Congo for the US, he did not know that he will one day become a big star in the land of milk and honey.
The young rapper who doubles up as a singer and songwriter has had a successful musical journey, albeit circumambient with a myriad of challenges.
Before his success in music, Abizo belonged to a music group and worked his way up to outshine his colleagues and become a force to reckon with in the world music arena.
Abizo, in a recent media interview, disclosed that he owes his success to his elder brother who introduced him to music at a tender age.
”I am Abizo, a Congolese rapper, singer, and songwriter, based in the United State of America. I’ve had a passion for music since I was a toddler. The older I got, the more it grew, pushing me toward things like singing in my brother’s group, and anything music-related. I was exposed to all types of genres and one that stuck with me was rap. I didn’t grow up listening to rap music. My big brother introduced me to music and the rap game. This was a game I intended to win and excel in.”Abizo revealed.

Abizo, who taps his inspiration from Xxxtentancion prides himself on a number of hit songs such as Comme Merci, Dejavu, Happy, Trapboy among others.
He may be deep into contemporary music and rap but insists he was inspired greatly by the likes of fellow countrymen such as Papa Wemba, Koffi Olomide and Lokwa Kanza.
“My inspiration comes from various artists and genres. Being Congolese, Rumba from the likes of Papa Wemba, Lokwa Kanza, Koffi Olomide, etc. have a special position in my inspiration. However, the biggest source of my inspiration is Xxxtentancion. His lyrics, flow, beat, etc. just hit different to me. It inspires me to go beyond and gives me the motivation to be better at this craft 2 years from now. Regardless of the uncertainty of the next 2 years, I know I will be better than I am today. It is a struggle, and I am willing to do everything I can to take on the struggle and excel.” Abizo added.
