Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Tems has joined the ownership of an American football club.
The Nigerian star joined the San Diego Football Club ownership group as a club partner, through her company The Leading Vibe.

Tems is expected to bring the club her global influence and passion for community empowerment to the expansion team.

Welcoming Tems to the team, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of San Diego stated the benefits that the team would reap from its collaboration with her.

Tems, while expressing her delight with the partnership stated that she decided to join the club as she intends to build something special in San Diego.

The 29-year-old joins the list of high-profile collaborators that have joined the club in the recent past. Other members include actor and producer Issa Rae, footballer Juan Mata, Base Ball Star Manny Machado, and retired Navy Seal Jocko Willink.

Tems won the African Music Performance Award at the 2025 Grammy Awards, beating other established top musicians including Burna Boy, Chris Brown, Davido, Lojay, Asake, Wizkid, and Yemi Alade.
She rose to fame in 2020, when he featured on Wizkid’s song ‘Essence’. Her song ‘Love Me Jeje’ has achieved global success earning over 150 million streams on Spotify.
In 2024, she was nominated for the Afrobeats prize at the MTV Music Awards. The singer, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, is also a songwriter and a music producer.
