Sandra Mbuvi, the daughter of Kenyan politician Mike Sonko, has sparked a debate on social media after revealing that she spends around Sh15k to give her dogs a good life.
In an interview with Vincent Mboya, Sandra disclosed that she walks around with a budget for her dogs in case they need something while out.
“If it’s just like roaming around with my dogs, I just walk around with like Sh 10,000 to Sh 15,000. In case it needs something because whenever I go to a pet store, I buy whatever it picks,” Sandra said.
According to Sandra, her pets also have a special menu with various meals, including biscuits. She added that her dogs are often dressed in expensive clothes and have teddy bears to play with.
“They have teddy bears to play with; they have dog biscuits. I have a menu for my dogs so if it’s lunchtime, we check. For example, at break time, they have biscuits. And then if it’s another meal, they check the menu, if it’s dinner time, they check the menu,” she explained.

Sandra’s comments have caused a stir on social media, with many people questioning the amount of money she spends on her dogs. Some people feel that the amount is excessive, especially considering the economic situation in the country. Others, however, argue that pet ownership is a personal decision and that people should be allowed to spend their money as they see fit.
This is not the first time Sandra has attracted attention for her love of dogs. A few months ago, she shared a detailed meal plan for her dogs on Instagram, which generated a lot of controversies. Many people were surprised that dogs were being fed fancy things such as scrambled eggs and fruits, and some felt it was an unnecessary extravagance.
Despite the criticism, Sandra remains unapologetic about her love for her dogs and her willingness to spend money on them. She argues that pet ownership is a responsibility that should not be taken lightly and that owners should do whatever they can to ensure that their pets are happy and healthy.
