The New York Police Department (NYPD) is actively searching for American rapper Jacques Bermon Webster better known by his stage name Travis Scott for questioning.
In a Wednesday morning incident, the rapper allegedly punched a sound engineer at Midtown’s Club Nebula, Manhattan, and the altercation resulted in $12,000 worth of damage.
According to a statement from officers from New York City Police Department’s Midtown Precinct, they responded to the incident at 3:25 am, and a sound engineer said “he was involved in a verbal dispute with” the rapper, Scott. He is also accused of escalating the verbal altercation into a physical brawl and allegedly “punched the victim with a closed fist on the left side of the face.”
In addition, Scott is also accused of destroying some equipment in the club, a speaker, and a video screen estimated to be $12,000 before fleeing west on 41st Street in a car.
Scott’s lawyer, speaking to TMZ, said,
“This is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion.” Additionally, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”

The club management, echoing his sentiments, said things were blown out of proportion, and the night was great.
“This is blown completely out of proportion. It was a great night,” said Club Nebula’s managing partner Richie Romero.
The investigators are reviewing the surveillance footage, and the rapper’s lawyer is confident he will be cleared of wrongdoing.
“We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing.”
The 30-year-old rapper is the long-term boyfriend of Kylie Jenner, and together they have two kids, namely, Stormi and Aire.
Scott is still embroiled in the massive legal ramifications of the deadly crowd-crush incident at his 2021 Astroworld Festival, which left ten attendees dead, twenty-five hospitalized, and hundreds of others injured.
