How Muthui Was Shot During Majengo Protests
Dennis Muthui was gunned down on Wednesday amid violent protests in Majengo following the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Ibrahim Ramadan Chege.
Ramadan Chege was shot on March 4, shortly after leaving a mosque where he had attended evening prayers.
Police claimed he was carrying a bag of bhang and was shot during an altercation after his friends tried to prevent his arrest.
He later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital, sparking fresh outrage among residents.
Protesters barricaded roads around Shauri Moyo and Majengo, clashing with police throughout Wednesday.
In the chaos, an unidentified officer fired his weapon and Shot Muthui.
However, hours later, the National Police Service (NPS) claimed that Dennis Muthui had been stabbed by criminals—a version now disproved by forensic evidence.

Haki Africa Director Hussein Khalid stated that forensic analysis showed Muthui had been shot, not stabbed.
According to Khalid, the bullets exploded in the stomach and Oduor collected at least seven pellets from inside the stomach.
“This clearly discounts the allegation that he was stabbed. This confirms that he was shot and killed,” Hussein said.
“Of course, according to eyewitnesses, the person who shot him was a police officer or at least identified himself as a police officer.”
The NPS claimed it had interdicted an officer involved in the fatal shooting of Ramadan Chege on March 4 in Shauri Moyo.
Meanwhile, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) has launched investigations into both killings and three others that were left injured.
