Kenya has sent 230 specialized police officers to Haiti to boost the UN-authorized Gang Suppression Force (GSF) that is tasked to suppress armed gangs in the country.
The troops led by Kenya’s Deputy National Security Advisor Joseph Boinett and James Kamau, Senior Assistant Inspector General (S/AIG), were received by the President of Haiti’s Transitional Presidential Council, Laurent Saint-Cyr, alongside other top leaders. Kenya’s Consul General to Haiti, Noor Gabow, was also present.
