The Nairobi Hospital has announced leadership changes to its Board of Management, Board of Trustees and Senior Management Team.
In a notice on Friday December 13, the hospital stated that the decision for changes was made during their annual general meeting.
“Following the successful conduct of the Annual General Meeting of Kenya Hospital Association held December 2024 at 2.00p.m., we wish to notify all our stakeholders as follows,” read the notice in part.
The Board appointed Felix Osano as acting Chief Executive Officer after the suspension of James Nyamongo days after he was sent on compulsory leave.
The CEO has been on annual leave after board members representing the Kenya Hospital Association (KHA) which manages the medical facility voted in favor of the decision.
Days after Nyamongo was sent on leave, KHA Chairman Dr. Chris Bichage in a letter dated December 30 directed that the embattled does not return to the office until the Board of Management advises accordingly.

Osano will be assisted by Dr. Rueben Okioma, as the Deputy Director Medical Services & Research, Margret Muiyoro, Ag Director Nursing Services and Nicodemus Odongo as Director of Strategy & Innovation.
It will also include Felix Osano as Director of Supply Chain & Distribution, Mohamed Doo Said as Director of Human Resources and William Masita as Director of Finance.
Dr. Magdalyne Wambui Kamande will serve as Director of Transformation Services and ICT, while Gilbert Nyamweya will serve as the Company Secretary.

Dr. Margaret Sirima will be the Principal of the College of Health Sciences, with Weldon Rotich heading Internal Audit & Controls and Audrey Onsomu leading Risk & Compliance.
Antipas Nyambok will be the Head of Operations, Major (Rtd) Guido Aido Leariwala will serve as Chief Security Officer, and Trevour Adudah will act as the Head of Engineering.
“The senior management team is supported by a team of more than 2,000 employees in its quest to deliver world class quality healthcare,” the hospital said.

The hospital also unveiled the composition of the Board of management of the Kenya Hospital Association in accordance with, and operation of articles 38 (a), (b) and (e); 40; 42: 43: 44: 46;47; and 51 of the articles of the association in so far as the constitution and composition of the Board of management of the Kenya Hospital Association is concerned, the Board is currently constituted Board as follows.
The Nairobi Hospital Board of Management oversees the hospital’s corporate governance and is accountable to the Kenya Hospital Association (KHA). The KHA ensures the hospital complies with the law while upholding the highest standards of corporate governance and business ethics.

Dr. Chris Bichage has been re-elected as the Board Chairperson of the Kenya Hospital Association. He was re-elected as a board member on December 21, 2022.
Bichage will be deputized by Samson Mbuthia Kinjanjui, while Dr. Fred Kambuni will serve as the Chairperson of the Medical Advisory Committee, deputized by Mbira Gikonyo.
Other board members include Barcley Onyambu, Prof. Herma Manyora, Dr. Magdalene Muthoka, Prof. John Mwero, and Akinyi Gaya Valerie.

“In accordance with Articles 38(f) of the Articles of Association of Kenya Hospital Association, the Board of Trustees is constituted as follows,” read the notice in part.
Prof. Githu Muigai was re-elected as a trustee alongside Richard Baraza, Dr. Jane Nyakang’o, Prof. Donald Orinda, Dr. Meshach Ong’uti, and Cecilia Ngalyuka.
