Popular social media influencer Polo Kimani has claimed that he narrowly escaped an abduction after being lured under false pretenses for a job opportunity.
In a statement dated March 9, his friend Kimuzi shared several screenshots of their conversation detailing the alleged incident.

“Unfortunately, yesterday, Polo Kimani was involved in an attempted abduction that didn’t succeed. He was lured under false pretenses with the promise of a CCTV job. Man, it’s so sad what young people are going through. He asked me to tell you not to relent; the struggle continues.”
“He has no phone or main account. He will be buying one today,” Kimuzi said.

According to the screenshots shared on X, Kimani claimed that an individual tricked him into visiting his home in Karen to install an electric fence.
After spending some time at the client’s house, a car arrived at the compound. The client then asked him to step outside to inspect the compound.

Polo Kimani Escapes Attempted Abduction
At that moment, a police officer, accompanied by a prominent businessman based in Mombasa, confronted him. The businessman reportedly ordered the officer to arrest Kimani.
“As soon as we arrived, this guy came out of the car and said, ‘Polo Kimani… we’ve got you now.’ He had a cop with him, whom he told, ‘Arrest him,'” Kimani alleged.
However, the influencer managed to escape before he could be taken into custody.
“I managed to jump over a rusted gate even after the police pointed a gun at me. I’ve lost a considerable amount of blood and just underwent minor surgery and stitches,” Kimani revealed.

During the altercation, he claimed to have lost both his phones and his identification card, making it impossible for him to access his social media accounts.
“I am unable to log into my account because they took both my phones and my ID,” he said.
Social Media Influencer Links Abduction to Recent Expose
Kimani linked the attempted abduction to his recent exposé involving a deal between the businessman and the government.
Despite the ordeal, Kimani has vowed to continue holding authorities accountable.
“I just want you to tell young people that this is a battle we have chosen. They must not back down, no matter the threats. This country belongs to all of us. Those who want to treat it as their own and live opulently at our expense must be stopped. Let’s not loosen our grip.
Our stars as a generation are aligned. I’ll return soon,” he stated.

Kimani is currently nursing injuries on his hand sustained while escaping through the fence.
Kimani’s alleged abduction comes at a time when the country has witnessed a rise in incidents of abduction.
During the month of December 2024, several youths were abducted allegedly by people believed to be police officers but were later released.
Wajir MCA Yussuf Ahmed, who had been missing for 6 months, was reunited with his family after he was dumped by unknown people on the night of Saturday, March 8.
