The White House has accused Somali immigrants in Minnesota of misusing US taxpayer-funded programs, claiming some of the funds were diverted to luxury purchases abroad, including real estate in Kenya.
During an interview with Fox News on December 1, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said that one of the schemes involved a non-profit and its affiliates that claimed to provide meals to tens of thousands of American children during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While taxpayers reimbursed the organizations for these meals, federal prosecutors found that almost none of the meals were delivered.
Leaders of the organizations allegedly used the funds to purchase houses, luxury cars, and property in Turkey and Kenya.
She also alleged that hundreds of other organizations were reimbursed for services intended to help people at risk of homelessness, but the promised support was never provided.
“They were reimbursed for those meals by taxpayers. However, federal prosecutors found that almost all of those meals were never even delivered to hungry children,” she said.
“In fact, those organizations’ leaders spent the money on houses, luxury cars, and real estate in Turkey and Kenya.”
Leavitt framed the alleged fraud as a misuse of taxpayer resources under Democratic leadership in a Democrat-run state.
“This President is not going to put up with it anymore,” Leavitt said, vowing that the administration will act to prevent further exploitation of federal programs.
She reported that fifty-nine of those charged have been convicted for their roles in fraud schemes that allegedly stole $1 billion from taxpayers.

Mass Deportations Loom As US Ends Migration For All Third World Countries
The US President Donald Trump has outlined a sweeping immigration plan, stating that he will halt migration from all Third World countries to allow the US system to “fully recover.”
In a statement on November 28, Trump said he would terminate millions of admissions authorized under the Biden administration.
He will include those signed using the president’s Autopen and remove anyone deemed not a net asset to the United States or incapable of loving the country.
“I will permanently pause migration from all Third World Countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover, terminate all of the millions of Biden illegal admissions, including those signed by Sleepy Joe Biden’s Autopen, and remove anyone who is not a net asset to the United States, or is incapable of loving our Country,” Trump stated.
He described the measures as part of an effort to achieve a major reduction in illegal and disruptive populations, including those admitted through what he described as an unauthorized and illegal Autopen approval process.
This followed Trump’s announcement of the immediate termination of the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program for Somali nationals in Minnesota.
In his Truth Social Post on November 22, Trump claimed that the state had become a hub of fraudulent money laundering activity under Governor Tim Waltz.
He accused Somali “gangs” of terrorizing residents while billions of dollars were missing.
Trump directed that affected individuals be returned to their countries of origin.
