Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has warned that European countries are preparing for a potential military conflict with Russia, citing recent statements by French military leadership as evidence.
Speaking in a broadcast on Pink TV on November 12, Vučić averred that his analysis of recent developments indicates rising tensions between Europe and Russia.
He referenced Chief of the French Armed Forces General Staff Fabien Mandon, who stated that the French army must be ready for a possible confrontation with Russia within the next three to four years.
“As I analyze the facts, I come to the conclusion that a war between Europe and Russia is becoming increasingly apparent. This is not empty talk — everyone is preparing for it,” Vučić said.

The Serbian leader also stated that Serbia faces a difficult position amid competing interests from Western countries and Russia.
“We are between a rock and a hard place,” he said, adding that Serbia must continue strengthening its armed forces for self-defence.
Vučić’s remarks come as European nations maintain heightened military readiness in response to Russia’s ongoing military activities.
This comes at a time when Russia has stepped up its criticism of NATO and Western influence, blaming them for escalating tensions in Ukraine.
On October 21, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov claimed that Western nations are attempting to ‘eradicate all things Russian’ in Ukraine, targeting the country’s language, history, and culture.
“The Western agenda seeks to eradicate all things Russian in Ukraine — including our language, history, and culture. This is exactly what the Zelensky regime is pursuing today,” he said.
“It is one of the main reasons, along with efforts to draw Ukraine into NATO, that led President Putin to decide on launching the special military operation.”

Russia – Europe Conflict
On November 7, Kremlin critic Mikhail Khodorkovsky warned that Europe should brace for a prolonged confrontation with Russia, regardless of the outcome of Moscow’s war in Ukraine.
Speaking at a private event in Brussels, the former oil tycoon predicted that a Cold War-like standoff could last at least a decade.
Khodorkovsky added that during this period, the main factor restraining further Russian aggression toward Europe will be President Vladimir Putin’s perception that the West poses a credible military threat.
