A group of 134 members from the Mutomo Land Owners Association, supporting the acquisition of their land by Mama Ngina University College in Mutomo village, Gatundu South, have applied to be enjoined in the suit at the Thika Environment and Land Court.
The Mama Ngina University which currently sits on 10 acres has been seeking to acquire about 40 acres of the adjacent land for expansion.
The case had been filed by another group before Justice Bernard Eboso of the Thika Environment and Land Court, opposing the LWA move.
The 134 members of the Mutomo Landowners Association had agreed to cede their land parcels to pave way for the expansion of the university.
The Mutomo Landowners Association, further said the rival group has been presenting half-truths before the court with an intention of misleading the court.
They further said involving them in the suit was necessary as the matter touched on their properties which have been listed for acquisition by the National Land Commission (NLC).
The residents have been ordered through their counsel to serve the petitioner by November 4, 2022.
