Football Kenya Federation president Nick Mwendwa is expected to take plea on Monday September 26 at the Kiambu law Courts after the High Court declined to bar the DPP from charging him afresh.
Lady Justice Esther Maina allowed the matter to be pursued at the High Court since she handles graft related cases, however stated that she had no jurisdiction to stop the Director of Public Prosecutions from charging Mwendwa afresh.
The DPP, Noordin Haji is now allowed to charge Mwendwa.
The FKF president had previously been arrested a couple of times over fraud allegations at the federation’s office after sports Cs Amina Mohamed disbanded the federation.
Nick Mwendwa had been charged with conspiracy to defraud FKF of Ksh 38 million.
Mwendwa led FKF Vice President Doris Petra, Secretary General Barry Otieno, FKF’s Head of Integrity Michael Kamure among others to Kandanda House which had been locked which earned great criticism from CS Amina.
On September 9, the FKF president wrote to FIFA President Gianni Infantino stating that he was ready to go back to work as soon as he was done with the court cases.
Kenya however is currently banned by FIFA from participating in its football activities.
