The Ministry of Health on Sunday, May 29 announced 82 new cases of Corona virus infections from a sample of 2,197 tested in the last one day. This sums the total number of confirmed positive cases in the country to 324,769.
The new infections bring the positivity rate to 3.7 percent. Among the infected are 69 Kenyans and 13 foreigners, out of which, 43 are male and 39 are female. Moreover, the youngest is a 3- year-old whereas the oldest is 88 years old.
A statement by the Ministry of Health reports that, the positive cases are distributed across the country, that is; 70 in Nairobi, 5 in Kiambu, 3 in Mombasa, 2 in Kakamega, and 1 for Kilifi and Uasin Gishu as well.
Furthermore, MoH reported that four patients are currently admitted to various health facilities, while 586 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program. Fortunately, there are no patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), none on supplemental oxygen and no patient is in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).
At the same time, 15 patients have recovered from Covid-19, thence pushing Kenya’s total recoveries to 318,461.
