Angry villagers of Kuoyo in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay County set ablaze six houses in three different homesteads, belonging to people suspected to have stolen cows.
Moreover, the victims are accused of stealing eight cows in Kadem, which is in the neighboring Migori county and Kanyadoto within Ndhiwa Sub County over the weekend.
North Kaganda assistant chief, Netto Otieno Aketch, reported that the suspects stole three cows from Kadem on Saturday, June 25 night using a pick-up vehicle. They then headed to a homestead in Kalamindi village where they were caught slaughtering one cow before they vanished into the dark.
According to the assistant chief, the mob who went after the cows from Kadem joined forces with angry villagers from Kanyadoto and stormed three homes belonging to the suspects before setting a blaze six houses.

Furthermore, Mr. Akech reported that four cows stolen from Kanyadoto were found hidden in a sugarcane plantation. Adding that the they recovered a total of eight cows which were taken to Ndhiwa police station.
Likewise, the administrator confirmed that one suspect was apprehended on Sunday, June 26 evening and is currently under police custody.
