The Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Meru show is set to resume in June 2022 after taking a two-year break due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Agricultural Society of Kenya CEO Batram Muthoka reported that the event will be held in Gitoro near Meru town, a location which happens to be its traditional venue.
The Agricultural show will go on for four days starting June 1, 2022.
This comes at a time when the ASK just began partial recommencement of agricultural functions that are popular with farmers, students, children, and several other participants across the country.
“We have been out of the exhibitions for the last two years because of Covid-19. This year we are running nine shows out of the 16, Meru being one of them. We have done the Eldoret show, Meru will be second,” said Muthoka.
The ASK CEO said they are anticipating a bigger number of participants at the forthcoming Meru show. He quoted a possible attendance of up to 350,000 participants, including farmers and entrepreneurs.
“We have already invited neighboring counties of Embu, Isiolo, Tharaka Nithi, Laikipia and others,” he added.
The Theme for this year’s show is: “Promoting innovation and technology in Agriculture and trade” Meru branch chairman Stanley Maingi also mentioned that agriculture and trade will feature prominently at the extravaganza.
The entrance fee will be Sh250 for adults and Sh200 for children.
