President William Ruto has called on Azimio Leader Raila Odinga, to stop the anti-government protests that he has been leading for the past two weeks.
“In view of the recent events that lead to loss of life and destruction of property in the demonstrations that have location in our country for the last two weeks I ask my brother and the opposition to call off the demonstrations and to give this bipartisan approach a chance for us to take the country forward,” authortatively said the head of state.

The President cited the loss of life and destruction of property that has resulted from these protests and urged the opposition leader to give a bipartisan approach a chance to move the country forward.
The President has proposed the reconstitution of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) selection panel using a bipartisan approach involving both chambers of parliament.
He emphasized that this was not a matter of numbers but of wisdom.
