The court detained nine police officers from the disbanded Special Services Unit (SSU) of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
The police officers from the disbanded elite group will know their fate on Thursday, November 10, on whether they will be admitted to bail or detained for 30 days as sought by the prosecution.
These nine officers are accused of being behind the mysterious disappearance of two Indian nationals Zulfiqar Ahmad Khan, Mohamed Zaid Sami Kidwai, and their taxi driver Nicodemus Mwania whose whereabouts remain unknown.
Moreover, the Kahawa Law Court Chief Magistrate Diana Mochache stated that she will rule on the miscellaneous application before her, next week Thursday.

Furthermore, the prosecution led by Michael Sang in their application sought to have the nine officers detained for 30 days awaiting investigations involving DNA sampling and a forensic analysis of their gadgets.
Nonetheless, the defense led by Danstan Omari objected to the prosecution’s prayers terming the prosecution of the nine officers as political, targeted at certain high ranking former security officials.
Additionally, the DPP has since intimated the possibility of invoking the principle of superior responsibility where superiors are held criminally responsible for crimes committed by their juniors.
