The Directorate of Criminal Investigations – DCI has issued a public apology for a mix-up of images in its communication regarding the search for criminal suspects involved in Monday’s illegal demonstrations.
In a statement released today, the DCI expressed its “unreserved” apologies to the public for the error, which it attributed to the overwhelming amount of information received via the #FichuakwaDCI online platform regarding reported incidents of violence.
The DCI explained that it was appealing to the public for information regarding the whereabouts of the suspects whose images were mistakenly included in yesterday’s communication. The statement also noted that the Directorate is working to rectify the situation and maintain public confidence in its operations.
The apology comes after the DCI’s initial communication caused confusion and backlash among members of the public. The DCI has acknowledged the mistake and taken steps to address the issue, emphasizing its commitment to working with the public to ensure the safety and security of all citizens.
