The Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has announced plans to partner with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to boost crime prevention in Kenya.
Moreover, on Friday, October 28, DCI boss Mohamed Amin met with the UNODC regional Representative, Neil Walsh, at the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road.
During the meeting, the UNODC committed to partner with DCI in crime prevention.
“UNODC would seek to partner with DCI in crime prevention, dealing with organized crime, drugs and substance abuse,” Walsh said.
Walsh was flanked by an entourage from his office.

Additionally, the meeting with UNODC Regional Representative came just a week after Amin assumed office and promised to institute far-reaching reforms aimed at ensuring that the DCI is responsive to the security needs of Kenyans.
Furthermore, during the meeting, the two discussed probable techniques that will positively contribute to regional peace, security, human rights, and development as well as making the world safe from the changing dynamics of crime.

Mohamed Amin also expressed his desire to collaborate with UNODC on mutual areas of interest including capacity building, among others. He further observed the need to ensure effectiveness of the criminal justice system to dispense justice faster.
